Hi! I'm Mary. I'm 24 and was once the Loch Ness Monster's close neighbour, but these days you'll find me in South Germany on the banks of the Danube. My days are spent learning German (read: getting annoyed with the language, stressing out about speaking it and getting all embarrassed when I accidentally call a pretzel a 'he' rather than a 'she'), teaching everyday and business English to 6 very nice classes, and coming home to my Portuguese-French-Canadian boyfriend and arguing about who's cooking the dinner tonight.

Oh, and I also like sewing.

Thimbles & Thumbs is my way of documenting my steps into the bewilderingly lovely world of sewing and getting to know my sewing machine which has a bit of a mind of its own (but I like that).
